Getting to Tasmania – Spirit of Tasmania
As the FX–FJ Holden Nationals are being held in Tasmania, most entrants and spectators travelling from the mainland will need to cross Bass Strait using the Spirit of Tasmania ferry service.
The Spirit of Tasmania operates modern roll-on/roll-off ferries between Geelong (Victoria) and Devonport (Tasmania), making it the only practical way to bring your vehicle—including classic cars—across to the island.
Why the Spirit of Tasmania?
- 🚗 Take your car with you – ideal for classic vehicles, trailers, and support cars
- 🛳️ Overnight or day sailings available
- 🛏️ Comfortable cabins, lounges, dining and onboard facilities
- 📍 Arrives in Devonport, only a short drive from Latrobe and event locations
For Nationals entrants, booking early is strongly recommended—especially if you’re travelling with a vehicle or trailer—as sailings fill quickly around major events.
